April 14, 2012– After six kids and seven years together, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have finally become engaged. The manager for Pitt, Cynthia Pett-Dante confirmed on Friday in a statement that read, “Yes, it is confirmed. The kids are excited, but no date has been set yet.”
On Friday, the talk about an engagement spread everywhere when Robert Procop a jeweller revealed that the ring that everyone saw Jolie wearing at the LA County Museum of Art was in fact, an engagement ring. The ring took a year to design and Pitt helped the jeweller with the design.
Jon Voight, Jolie’s father, told reporters that he was happy for the couple, when he heard about the engagement. Pitt and Jolie have six kids. The children range in age from 10 down to three. They have said that if the kids were to ask, then the two would get married. Last January, Pitts said in an interview that he and Jolie had been getting pressured from their children.
He said the children are starting to ask the couple why they are not married when their friends have parents who are married.
The designer of the ring said that Pitt was very involved in its design. He oversaw all aspects of the design evolution. The side diamonds, Procop said, are cut in order to encircle her finger.
Pitt, 48, and Jolie 36, have been a couple for 7 years. They started their relationship after they worked together on the film Mr & Mrs. Smith.
