During auditions for American Idol, Judge Nicki Minaj started swearing at fellow panelist Mariah Carey and threatened to knock her out
October 03, 2012- On Tuesday, in Charlotte, North Carolina, auditions for American Idol were derailed after judge Nicki Minaj started swearing at fellow panelist Mariah Carey and threatened to knock her out. Video footage shows that Minaj was obviously furious and shouting.
She screamed that she was not going to put up with the highness of Carey. Sources close to the show said that Minaj later used threatening words and said she wanted to knock Mariah out. However, that allegedly took place prior to the start of the video that has gone viral.
This all took place when the two entertainers were sitting around the judge’s table. Fellow judge Keith Urban was sitting in between the two women, while Randy Jackson the fourth and final judge was at one far end of the table sitting beside Carey.
Rumor is that the entire situation took place because of a disagreement between the two over the performance of a contestant. In the video, Minaj can be heard saying “get in control” while Jackson is telling her to settle down. At that time, Minaj starts to get verbally abusive at Jackson and then at Carey saying she told the producers she was not going to put up with Carey every day. Even though Carey can be seen talking back to Minaj her voice is inaudible on the tape.
Sources said the auditions were then stopped by the producers of the show for the remainder of the day. That was confirmed later in the day by the show. The show’s directors seem to be uncharacteristically upset about what happened. Its seems they are worried that Mariah and Minaj will have a hard time co-existing over the long run.
