Director Nora Ephron has passed away.
June 28, 2012– On Tuesday, Nora Ephron suffered an untimely death and her passing continues to dominate news in the entertainment industry. There have been a countless number of love letters and tributes that have been posted across the internet. Celebrities have showed an emotional outpouring of respect and love for the screenwriter, playwright and director.
Steve Martin worked with the director in Mixed Nuts and tweeted that she was the one to listen to, to read and to be with. He said Ephron had incomparable wit and was a delightful friend.
Justin Timberlake said on his tweet that Ephron was charming, witting, funny and was one of the industry’s greatest. Jessica Biel, Timberlake’s fiancée, tweeted thanks to Ephron for contributions that helped break the ground for women in the industry. Biel stated that Ephron had paved the way for many to follow.
Better Midler, the long time entertainer said that Ephron was brilliant and everyone will miss her. Ron Howard and Albert Brooks, two fellow writers, shared memories of Ephron by saying she was witty, a lovely person and very gracious.
Kirstie Alley tweeted that Ephron would be missed. Kevin Nealon also tweeted that he did not get a part he auditioned for some 20 years ago, but she sent a thank you note to me and he will always remember that.
