July 1, 2012– A new report from Hotwire.com has announced the results of a report featuring the top five Canadian cities where rates at hotels have fallen the most. For the fourth straight month, Winnipeg ranks as the number one destination. Prices in Winnipeg dropped 14%. Winnipeg, located in North America’s geographical center has become very popular over the last 10 years. The city boasts a rich arts and culture scene, excellent international cuisine and a number of exciting attractions.
After Winnipeg are Whistler, joining the list for just the first time in 2012 and Victoria. Whistler had a four percent drop in prices while Victoria had a five percent decline. Whistler offers hiking, golfing and a number of wonderful Scandinavian spas. Also, available is a visit to the venues from the 2010 Olympics and ATVs that you can use to explore the area.
Victoria is like “Old England,” narrow, winding streets and plenty of beautiful gardens. Because the cost to arrive has increased, many place in Victoria offer excellent deals once you arrive.
The last two are Banff and Montreal respectively. Banff is in the top five for the fifth straight month, while Montreal makes a return after a two-month hiatus. Banff and Montreal hotel room rated fell by 1%. Both cities have many summer activities to enjoy including golfing, horseback riding and trails for hiking.
