November 21, 2012 – Many of Apple’s fans received teasing emails on Tuesday promising an Apple one day shopping event on November 23, Black Friday. No information was released by the company, as to what products would be on sale or how big the discounts would be.
The event will start at 3:00 am eastern time Friday online. The special offers are also available at Apple retail locations and by using the Apple Store app for the iPhone.
Last year, Apple lowered the prices on the Ipad 2, Macs, and iPods, although Apple has not lowered the price of its big selling smartphone the iPhone in the past. Last year’s discounts were good but did not amount to anything spectacular. The iPad was discounted $41 to $61 and computer discounts were as high as $100.
However, with electronic and computer gadgets at the top of many holiday lists, every savings helps. Usually this is the only time the company will cut their prices on newer products.
A number of the different product lines in Apple have been recently refreshed, which means plenty of new items are available to choose from. However, there is not any guarantee Apple will slash the price of their new gadgets like the Mini iPad.
Not all of the new line of products announced back in October is even available yet. The new iMacs that are ultra thin will not even be available until late December.
Products that were included in last year’s sales were the MacBook Pro, iMac and the MacBook Air. In addition, prices were cut on the iPad 32 GB and the 64GB and the iPod touch, which had discounts on its 8GB, 32GB and 64GB versions.
