March 13, 2013 - It has been almost one hundred years since one of the most prominent writers of the American literature made that remarkable honour to us to read one of the most amazing novels of its time, “The Great Gatsby”. Very soon, people all around the world are going to have that pleasure to enjoy the story by watching it on the big screen. No more fancy and imagination, Baz Luhrmann and Leonardo DiCaprio are serving everything on the silver plate.

There is no human being in this world that has read the novel without falling in love in it immediately. F. Scott Fitzgerald, the great master of drama and symbolism, created a magnificent world of laugh and sorrow, success and failure, orange and blue. Who could describe roaring twenties better that the brilliant Fitzgerald, the magnificent writer who had lived in them? So ahead his time, it took him more than three decades to convince the world that his point of view on the 1920’s is worth of the respect. It seems that the 50’s were the turning point, since then his fame is getting only bigger and bigger.

This time, the fabulous story of opulence, excess and the degradation is coming a big way. The new adaptation is this time coming from the creator of remarkable “”Moulin Rouge” and “Australia”, the Australian director, Mark Anthony “Baz” Luhrmann. His movies are famous for great capacity to convey glamour and beauty. It is no matter if the theme is a cabaret saloon in the 19th century France or dusty prairie of the Australia, the audience can always count on class and style in his movies. This time he got the additional support of Leonardo DiCaprio, a heartbreaking actor. Critics agree that it is a perfect combination for creating a movie that will warm our hearts again.

Although the movie has already been ready, unfortunately the audience will have to be in suspension for a little longer. As with “Moulin Rouge” the talented director is going to take his chances and present his film in the great European festival in Cannes.  The organisers of the festival mentioned that it would be the opening movie. Besides DiCaprio, as the mysterious West Egg millionaire Jay Gatsby, there are also many other famous actors: Tobey Maguire as his companion and probably the only true friend, Nick Carraway, Carey Mulligan as Gatsby’s great love, Daisy Buchanan, and Joel Edgerton, as her husband, Tom.

As the opening of the Cannes Film Festival is set for the May 15th, the audience in America is going to have pleasure to see it on a premiere on May 10th – “Jazz Age”, glamour, huge money, huge parties and one and only Jay Gatsby.
